The laboratory practice

Laboratory Krone is existing in second generation since 1947.

Since 1955, it fulfills its mission as a medicinal investigative body in the administrative district of Detmold.

The practice owners and the employed doctors are medical specialists for

• Laboratory medicine
• Microbiology, virology and infection epidemiology
• Human genetics
• Hygiene and environmental medicine.

The areas of transfusion medicine, traffic medicine, travel medicine and cytology are covered by additional qualifications.

The Laboratory is DAkkS-accredited (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH / German Accreditation Body) according to DIN EN ISO 15189 (Registration number D-ML-13256-01-00) and DIN EN ISO/ IEC 17025 (Registration number D-PL-13256-01-00).

More than 65 years of experience in laboratory diagnostics make us an institution that has proved itself successful as a competent contact for a wide variety of medical practices, clinics and university hospitals regionally and nationally.

Besides that, we provide the diagnostics for numerous health authorities.

The basic pillars of our laboratory work are vast experience, analytical quality, practice- orientated consultation and interpretation, state-of-the art technology and sophisticated logistics.

Over 200 professionally trained employees support the practice owners.

Our experienced team and comprehensive courier service supported by modern computer solution, enables us to answer almost all questions of haematology, clinical chemistry, immunology, infection serology, endocrinology, microbiology, hygiene, molecular biology, cytology, toxicology, environmental, travel and traffic medicine.

Preconditions for this are a frictionless transport and a quickest possible transfer and interpretation of results in German and English.

Additional we are involved in the consulting of practice and hospital hygiene and environmental toxicology (HBICON). Our analysis spectrum is extended by paternity testing and individual genetic tests through our spinout company LABCON-OWL.

Extensive analytical experience in forensic medicine, especially blood alcohol, drug examinations (urine, blood, hair) and DNA saliva testing lead to comprehensive expert activities for public prosecutor’s offices, district and regional courts.
