Mucosal swab
Description | Mucosal swabs for genetic testing are taken with a dry cotton swab. Material is taken from the inner side of the cheek by wiping the swab several times (10-15 times) with definitive pressure whilst slightly turning it. Description: To stabilize the sample, slide the swab into the transport tube without closing it. With the lid slightly open, the swab is dried for several hours or overnight. After closing the transport tube, the testing material can be stored at room temperature for several days until dispatch. |
