Encephalopathy
Description | Testing of a serum-CSF-pair through the “standard program”. If there is a strong clinical suspicion, the cell-based assay for GFAP-Antibodies (Meningoencephalitis/-myelitis) and Adenylate kinase 5-Antibodies (limbic encephalitis) can be requested additionally. A screening for these antibodies by tissue-based assay is however already included in the standard program. If, with a corresponding clinical presentation/imaging, a demyelinating CNS-disease (NMOSD, MOG-antibody-associated disease) is considered, we recommend additional testing for MOG antibodies (live-cell assay) and Aquaporin 4 antibodies in serum. # Material: Serum-CSF-pair, 1 ml each |
