Material | 2 ml serum each |
Procedure | Repeated blood collections throughout the day, at 8, 16 and 23 o’clock. Mark the serum samples and send to the laboratory. |
Evaluation | Normal function: 8 o’clock: 10 – 20 µg/dl 16 o’clock: 3 – 10 µg/dl 23 o’clock: < 5 µg/dl
On suspicion of Cushing syndrome, however, a dexamethasone suppression test can also be carried out initially. This is less complex and more conclusive. |
