Muscle specific receptor tyrosine kinase autoantibodies
(MuSK antibodies)
Material: | 0,5 ml serum |
Methods: | Ligandenassays → Radioimmunoassay (RIA) | Reference range | 0,05 nmol/l |
Indication | Acetylcholine receptor (AchR) antibodies negative myasthenia gravis |
Please note | In 20% of all myasthenia patients, antibodies against AchR are not detectable; in 40 – 70% of those, there are antibodies against muscle specific receptor tyrosine kinase (MuSK). MuSK antibody positive myasthenia often shows severe courses with multiple myasthenic crises. Antibody concentration correlates with the severity of the clinical picture. |
