Synovial fluid analysis
Material: | Depending on the requested laboratory testing the aspirate should be divided in two parts. One part should be put in a sterile tube for bacteriological, chemical and immunological tests, the other part is transferred into an EDTA or heparin container for cytological examinations (cell count and cell differentiation) The joint aspirate should be freshly taken before examination. A prolonged transport can cause damage of cells and cristals can be dissolved or artificially created. |
