Material: | Ova are rarely found in the faeces and are usually looked for by wiping 2 or 3 times the anal region with sticky tape (Scotch tape) first thing in the morning and sticking this onto a microscopic slide for examination. Repeated examinations may be necessary. Adult worms are often observed on the surface of stools. Ova are often not found by microscopic examination of faeces. |
