Parathyroid autoantibodies
Material: | 1 ml serum | Reference range | < 1:10 titer |
Indication | Unclear hypocalcemias and hyperphosphatemias, suspicion of polyglandular autoimmune endocrinopathy type 1, suspicion of autoimmune hypoparathyroidism |
Please note | Activating autoantibodies against the calcium sensitive receptor can lead to hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia with concurrent low or low-normal parathyroid hormone. This may be isolated or seen especially in the context of a polyglandular syndrome type 1. |
