Mycoplasma genitalium
Material: | Vaginal swab, cervical swab, urethral swab, genital swab, anal swab, oral swab (Aptima® swabs), first-void urine (Aptima® urine), ejaculate. Please note that the collection material is the same as for chlamydia, gonococcus and trichomonad PCR. |
Methods: | Amplifikationsverfahren → Real-time-PCR | Criteria for evaluation | negative |
Indication | Differential diagnosis of urethritis, cervicitis, chlamydia trachomatis-negative nongonococcal urethritis |
Please note | Mycoplasma genitalium has significance in the clarification of chlamydia trachomatis-negative nongonococcal urethritis. Often there is an association to sexual activity. On suspicion of further sexually transmitted pathogens, please also refer to “STI-Multiplex PCR” (14 pathogens) or “Mycoplasma/Ureaplasma PCR” for (4 pathogens) |
