LDH
(Lactate dehydrogenase)
Material: | 1 ml serum (hemolysis-free) 1 ml heparin plasma (most suitable material to avoid hemolysis). Whole blood should not be used due to the high intraerythrocytic LDH activity (increased by factor 360 in comparison to serum!). Stability in serum at 4°C – 8°C: 4 days. |
Methods: | Spektrometrie → UV- / VIS-Photometrie | Reference range | Adults: < 250 U/l Children: Please refer to findings report |
Indication | LDH is an ubiquitous cytoplasmic enzyme and therefore increased in all processes involving cell death. Possible indications are hemolysis, megaloblastic anemia, icterus, monitoring and prognosis of testicular cancer, ovarian cancer, leukemia and others |
