Material: | 1 ml serum 1 ml EDTA-blood 10 ml urine |
Methods: | Spektrometrie → induktiv-gekoppelte Plasma-Massenspektrometrie (ICP-MS)) | Reference range | Serum: 46 µg/l – 70 µg/l EDTA-blood: 27 µg/l – 67 µg/l Urine: 11 µg/g – 403 µg/g crea
Grade 1 Iodine-deficiency: 50 µg/g – 100 µg/g crea Grade 2 Iodine-deficiency: 25 µg/g – 50 µg/g crea Grade 3odine-deficiency: < 25 µg/g crea |
Indication | Exclusion of iodine contamination through contrast media or iodine-containing drugs such as Amiodarone |
Please note | Iodine-deficiency in children can be prevented by additional administration of 200 µg iodine tablets per day during pregnancy and breastfeeding period. This should be done in any case, even with pre-existing autoimmune thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto or non-active Basedow. |
