Interleukin-2-receptor, soluble
(sIL-2R)
Material: | 1 ml Serum (stable at 2°C – 8 °C for max. 24 hours, shipping only frozen) |
Methods: | Ligandenassays → Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) | Reference range | 1,2 ng/ml – 8,8 ng/ml |
Indication | Evaluation of disease activity of chronic illnesses with T-cell activation such as sarcoidosis or rheumatoid arthritis, chronic inflammatory bowel or liver diseases, suspicion of lymphoproliferative illnesses, suspicion of transplant rejection |
Please note | The IL-2-receptor consists of a 75 kD subunit and a 55 kD subunit. After activation of T-lymphocytes, these release the 55 kD subunit in increased amounts as a soluble IL-2 receptor. The concentration of the IL-2 receptor in serum is therefore a measure for the activation of the T-cellular immune system. |
