Immunoglobulins, IgG-subclasses in serum
Material: | 1 ml serum |
Methods: | Spektrometrie → Nephelometrie | Reference range | Adults: IgG1: 4,05 g/l – 10,11 g/l |
Indication | Suspicion of humoral immune defects. Recurrent bacterial upper airway and ear-nose-throat infections. Asthma, chronic-obstructive bronchitis, food allergies, diabetes mellitus, IgG-deficiency. |
Please note | There is IgG-subclass-deficiency, when:
An IgG-subclass-deficiency may be without clinical relevance. On the other hand, antibody response within an IgG-subclass to a specific antigen-group may be disturbed (immunological gap) despite normal IgG-subclass-concentration. IgG-subclass-deficiencies are increasingly seen in the following diseases and immune defects: Food allergies, bronchial asthma, chronic-obstructive bronchitis, infections, otitis media, H. influenzae-infections, meningitides (Neisseria), acute/recurrent respiratory tract infections, recurrent sinusitis, diabetes mellitus, Schönlein-Henoch’s purpura, Bechterew’s, Friedreich’s ataxia, IgA-deficiency, SLE (IgG2/4), ataxia telangiectasia, CVID (common variable immunodeficiency), autoimmune cytopenias. |
