Immunofixation in the urine
Material: | 10 ml urine |
Methods: | Elektrophorese → Elektrophorese Immunfixation | Reference range | as per findings report |
Indication | Suspicion of monoclonal gammopathy, Bence-Jones proteinuria |
Please note | Concurrent immunofixation in serum is important for the interpretation of findings. CAUTION: Light chain myeloma often are only detectable in the urine, as the free light chains are filtered glomerular due to their low molecular weight and are therefore not detectable in the serum in case of still intact kidney function.
