HBDH
(Alpha-hydroxybutyric dehydrogenase, LDH1)
Material: | 1 ml serum, free from hemolysis |
Methods: | Spektrometrie → UV- / VIS-Photometrie | Reference range | 75 U/l – 195 U/l |
Indication | Suspicion of myocardial damage |
Please note | HBDH is an alternative term for the isoenzymes of LDH1 and LDH2 of the lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). Due to the low specificity and sensitivity, this test should not be used in case of suspected myocardial infarction. Instead, the highly sensitive cardiac troponin I is the test of choice. Hemolysis leads to false-high serum activities, due to the high intraerythrocytic concentration of LDH1 and LDH2. |
