Hemolysins
Material: | 2 ml serum |
Indication | An intolerance in the ABO system can occur when the mother is blood type O and the child is either type A or type B. Hemolytic disease of the newborn can occur when there are IgG-anti-A and IgG-anti-B antibodies that cross the placenta. This ABO incompatibility generally has mild pathogenesis. High immune anti-A- and anti-B titers can support the suspicion of a hemolytic disease. |
Description | Immune anti-A- and immune anti-B antibodies in the maternal serum. These may be noticed as “hemolysins” due to their hemolysing effects. |
