Suspicion of drug abuse, long-term abstinence checks

A directed analysis in the hair, same as in urine, saliva or serum, has the aim to detect one or several substances or substance groups. It can be carried out within the context of a substitution therapy, abstinence checks or to rule out concomitant consumption.

Immunological drug screening (abbreviation: HAARM):

• Cannabinoids (ELISA)
• Cocaine, benzoylecgonine (ELISA)
• Amphetamine, methamphetamine, MDA, MDMA (ELISA)
• Opiates (ELISA)
• Methadon or EDDP (ELISA)
• Benzodiazepine (ELISA)

Four main groups via LC-MS/MS (abbreviation: HAARL4):

• Cannabinoids: THC
• Opiates: Morphine, 6-monoacetyl morphine, codeine, dihydrocodeine
• Cocaine: Cocaine, benzoylecgonine, norcocaine
• Amphetamines: Amphetamine, methamphetamine, MDA, MDMA

Seven main groups via LC-MS/MS (abbreviation: HAARLC):

• HAARL4, in addition to:
• Methadone: Methadone, EDDP

Screening for psychotropic medication via LC-MS/MS (abbreviation: HAARLM):

• Approximately 60 different medications such as antidepressants, neuroleptics, anticonvulsants and analgesics (see profile form)

The spectrum of substances covered is continuously extended. The aim is to to cover all substances listed in annexes 2 and 3 of the law governing the use and traffic of drugs (synthetic cannabinoids and cathinones, commonly known as “herbal highs”, “party pills” or “spice”, phenylethylamines or 2C-compounds (2C-E), also tryptamine derivates and piperazine derivates).
