Cryptosporidia
Material: | Pathogen demonstration, antigen demonstration: Stool |
Methods: |
Ligandenassays → Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) Mikroskopie → Hellfeldmikroskopie |
Indication | Acute or chronic diarrhea, especially in immunosuppressed or immune-deficient patients (HIV). | Mandatory reporting | ja As per §7 IfSG, both direct and indirect detection of cryptosporidia will be reported to the responsible health authorities, stating the patients’ name. |
Please note | Cryptosporidiosis is an intestinal infection caused by parasites of the genus cryptosporidium. For humans cryptosporidium parvum and cryptosporidium hominis are especially important.
