Frozen serum or EDTA-plasma

The sample needs to be taken in the morning between 08:00 and 08:30 from an empty-stomached patient and then centrifuged within 30 min to 1 hour. Serum needs to be frozen and sent frozen in a special cooling container, which is available on request. EDTA-plasma remains stable for up to 8 days.

0 – 7 years of age: 0,50 µg/l – 2,50 µg/l
7 – 16 years of age: 0,50 µg/l – 3,00 µg/l
16 – 18 years of age: 0,20 µg/l – 1,50 µg/l

Women (premenopausal): < 0,59 µg/l
Women (postmenopausal): < 1,0 µg/l
Men under the age of 50: < 0,58 µg/l
Men between the ages of 51 – 70: < 0,7 µg/l
Men over the age of 70: < 0,85 µg/l
