CK-MB mass
(Creatine kinase isoenzyme MB, mass evaluation)
Material: | 1 ml serum (stability in serum at 4° - 8° C: 7 days) |
Methods: | Ligandenassays → Elektrochemilumineszenz-Immunoassay (ECLIA) | Reference range | Women: < 3,61 ng/ml Men: < 4,87 ng/ml |
Indication | Differential diagnosis of cardiac muscle and skeletal muscle diseases |
Please note | According to the new definition of myocardial infarction (see indications directory), troponin I is the preferred marker for diagnosing cardiac muscle damage. Alternatively, CK-MB mass determination can be used. CK-MB activity evaluation is obsolete. In case of total CK activity of > 100 U/l, a CK-MB portion of > 4 % of total CK, points toward cardiac muscle damage. Please also refer to section “Myocardial infarction” (indications directory) |
