(chromium)
Material: | 1 ml serum, 1 ml EDTA-blood, 1 ml lithium-heparin blood (A special extraction-monovette (LH-metal-analysis) for metal testing is available on request) 10 ml urine |
Methods: |
Spektrometrie → Atomabsorptionsspektroskopie (AAS) Spektrometrie → induktiv-gekoppelte Plasma-Massenspektrometrie (ICP-MS)) | Reference range | Serum: < 0,5 µg/l EDTA-blood: < 1,0 µg/l Urine: < 0,6 µg/l (BAR) |
Indication | Exposure at the workplace (metalworking, leather industry) |
Please note | Toxicity of Cr (VI)- is considerably higher than that of Cr (III)- compounds. Cr (VI), in contrast to Cr (III), is membrane-permeable, so it is also binding to erythrocytes. The only medically relevant tests are the ones from urine and from whole blood, but not the ones from serum. |
