Indication | Atypical pneumonia after contact with birds, especially parrots |
Clinical presentation | Ornithosis is a pneumonia, often accompanied by infiltrates, transmitted by birds (budgies, parrots, pigeons and others) to humans. After an incubation period of approximately 10 days, general feeling of illness, severe headaches and backaches, myalgia, also abdominal problems and rapidly rising fever, which remains for 1 – 3 weeks.
