Blood count
Material: | Small blood count: 1 ml EDTA-blood. Directly after blood extraction, mix the sample by gently inverting the tubes several times to ensure sufficient mixing. For the small blood count, the EDTA-blood should be no older than 24 hours.
Differential blood count: 2 ml EDTA-blood Directly after blood extraction, mix the sample by gently inverting the tubes several times to ensure sufficient mixing. For the differential blood count, the EDTA-blood should be no older than 8 hours. The sample should be stored at room temperature (please do not store at 4°C – 8°C). If need be, 2 – 3 thin, air-dried, non-stained blood smears, which allow a longer storage time, for microscopic evaluation. |
