| Please note | SMA are a heterogenic group of antibodies, directed against structures of the cell skeleton (Actin, myosin and others). They occur in 80 – 90 % of patients with classic type I autoimmune hepatitis, in polymyositis they are detected in 30 % of cases. Concurrent occurrence with AMA type 2 is indicative of an AIH-PBC overlap syndrome. |
