Allergen specific IgG with type I reaction and hyposensitization
Material: | 1 ml – 4 ml serum Please state antigen! | Reference range | not detected |
Indication | Allergen specific IgG are of secondary importance in allergies of the immediate type (Type I). Clinical relevance is not secured. On suspicion of food allergies, IgG or IgG4 antibodies for food allergens, are tested. This method is not recommended by the involved specialist agencies. IgG antibodies of subclass 4 (IgG4) develop after hyposensitization treatment of type I allergies. These are attributed to have an inhibiting (“blocking”) effect to IgE mediated allergic reactions (Bee poison, medication such as penicillin, aspirin, carbamazepine and others). An increase in concentration of the specific IgG4 antibodies is rated as a sign of successful treatment. However, this increase alone is insufficient proof of successful therapy. |
