Allergen specific IgE
Material: | 2 – 4 ml serum |
Methods: | Ligandenassays → Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) | Reference range | < 0,35 IU/ml = RAST class 0 |
Indication | For demonstration of specific IgE antibodies in case of allergic type I illnesses. After taking the patient’s medical history, the desired allergens should be requested on a separate form (The available spectrum of tests can be found on allergy request form 8). An important diagnostic indication is seasonal or constant occurrence of problems. In case of seasonal allergy, inhalation allergens from pollen dispersal of grasses, herbs and trees (see pollen dispersal calendar) should be considered. In case of perennial allergies, allergens from residential or work environment, such as house dust, house dust mites, animal epithelia, mold, work-related dusts or nutritional allergens from food-components or medication may be the cause. |
