| Indication | Increased placental AP values are detected in approximately 60 % of testicular tumors and in approximately 50 % of ovarial carcinomas. Markedly increased levels of up to a tenfold of the upper reference value of non-smokers are found in smokers. |
| Please note | Alkaline placental phosphatase is evident in the blood from the 12th week of pregnancy. An ectopic formation is described in tumors of lung, ovaries, uterus and intestines. |
