ACE
(Angio-1 converting enzyme)
Material: | 1 ml serum (Stability in serum at 4° C - 8° C: 7 days) |
Methods: | Spektrometrie → UV- / VIS-Photometrie | Reference range | 20 U/l – 70 U/l |
Indication | Therapy monitoring in case of active sarcoidosis of the lungs, less suitable for differential diagnosis |
Please note | ACE inhibitors such as captopril may lead to decreased levels and should be discontinued 4 weeks prior to the test, where possible. Hemolytic and lipemic samples also lead to decreased ACE-levels. ACE is increased in case of active sarcoidosis and other granulomatous disorders such as silicosis, asbestosis, Gaucher’s disease, tuberculosis, M. Hodgkin, non-Hodgkin-lymphoma, acute and chronic leukemia, multiple myeloma, virus hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, biliary cirrhosis, respiratory distress syndrome of newborns, diabetes mellitus, M. Kaposi, psoriasis vulgaris. |
