CSF diagnostics (bacteriological)
| Material: | 5 ml – 10 ml CSF Please send to the laboratory immediately. Temporarily, the CSF can be stored at room temperature, better at 37 °C (not in the fridge!). Inoculation of an appropriate amount into an aerobic blood culture medium is additionally recommended. Furthermore, the collection of blood cultures should also be sought, which may, in fact, be a diagnostic alternative in case that CSF collection is impaired. |
