Lipase
(Pancreatic lipase)
Material: | 1 ml serum (Stability in serum at 4 °C – 8 °C: 7 days) |
Methods: | Spektrometrie → UV- / VIS-Photometrie | Reference range | < 60 U/l |
Indication | Acute and chronic pancreatitis, auxiliary parameter in pancreatic carcinoma |
Please note | Lipase is a more specific marker of acute pancreatitis than amylase. Increase 4 – 8 hours after onset of symptoms of acute pancreatitis with a maximum at the 24-hour point. Decrease to reference range value within 8 – 14 days in non- complicated courses. Caution: Kidney insufficiency can also lead to increased lipase parameters due to the partial glomerular filtration of the enzyme. Further pancreatitis markers in the serum: Amylase, pancreas elastase |
