LDH isoenzymes
(Lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes)
Material: | 1 ml serum, hemolysis-free. Whole blood is not suitable! | Reference range | Please refer to findings report. |
Indication | Evaluation of increased total LDH levels (mostly obsolete, as markers that are more specific are available). |
Please note | The LDH molecule is made of four subunits of two types H (heart) and two types M (muscle) each, which are combined into five isoenzymes. The H-type is found in tissue with high oxygen requirement, the M-type in tissue with strong glycolytic activity. Accordingly, there is the following organ-specific assignment: LDH-1 and LDH-2: Cardiac muscle, kidneys, erythrocytes; LDH-3: Spleen, lung, lymph nodes, thrombocytes, endocrine glands; LDH-4 and LDH-5: Liver and skeletal musculature Please also refer to: Macro enzymes |
