Description | Blood count, ferritin, transferrin, iron, soluble transferrin-receptor. Sole evaluation of serum iron is insufficient for diagnosis of iron deficiency or iron overload. In unclear iron deficiency the non-classical form of celiac disease/sprue should be considered. (see there). Please also see table below:
