Description | Considerably increased beta-HCG-values (500.000 - 1 million mU/ml). In 10 % of all cases, clinical hyperthyroidism due to high concentration of beta-HCG (TSH-effect). Postoperative checks on progress: Weekly beta-HCG-checks. Beta-HCG-levels should fall below the detection limit within 3 weeks up to a maximum of 8 weeks after complete removal. If beta-HCG is negative three times in a row within a 3-week period and with weekly checks, then further monthly checks for half a year. Ensure safe contraception (ovulation inhibitors) for a year after therapy. In case of another increase of HCG-levels there is a suspicion of new growth or malignancy. |
