Description | (Morbus Moschcowitz) (Non-immunologic hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, sometimes diarrhea, fever, kidney insufficiency, hypertension) Basic evaluations: Creatinine, urea, full blood count (fragmentocytes), haptoglobin, LDH, reticulocytes, protein excretion in the 24-hour urine, urine protein-SDS-electrophoresis, blood cultures Stool culture: EHEC- or VTEC-verotoxin-producing E. coli (i.e. O157:H7) Infection serology: HIV, hanta virus and others For differential diagnostic evaluation: Coagulation, coombs test, C3, C4, C3-nephritis factor Please also refer to section: Hemolytic-uremic syndrome |
