Basic evaluations:

Blood:

Creatinine, urea, creatinine-clearance, ESR or CRP, full blood count, sodium, potassium, calcium, chlorine, acid-base-status, total IgE

Urine:

Urine status, urine sediment, urine volume, sodium, creatinine and protein in the 24-hour urine, urine protein-SDS-electrophoresis

Further tests for etiological evaluation:

Cultural evaluations:

Cultures from sputum, bronchoalveolar lavage, urine    

Serology:

ASL, anti-dnase B (on suspicion of streptococcus infection), hanta-virus, Yersinia, legionella (also antigen-evidence in the urine), brucella

Toxicology:

Urine screening for drugs (aminoglycosides, penicillin, antiphlogistics etc.), heavy metals in the blood and urine (cadmium, lead etc.), meth-Hb
