C1-esterase inhibitor (C1-INH)
(Activity evaluation, protein evaluation)
Material: | Protein evaluation: 1 ml serum Activity evaluation: 1 ml citrate plasma, frozen |
Methods: |
Spektrometrie → Nephelometrie Spektrometrie → UV- / VIS-Photometrie | Reference range | Protein: 21 – 39 mg/dl Activity: 70 – 130 % |
Indication | Hereditary angioneurotic edema (Syn: HANE, hereditary angio edema, Quincke’s edema). Differential diagnosis of recurrent angioedema of skin, gastrointestinal tract and trachea. |
Please note | There is also a severe decrease (5 – 30 % of the reference range) of C1-INH values (concentrations and/or activities) in the heterozygous type I and type II. In case of C1-INH deficiency, a decrease in C3 and C4 can mark the complement activation. Please note that C1-INH is an acute-phase protein and accordingly will be increased in case of acute systemic inflammations. |
