Please note | Incubation time 3 – 6 days. Incidence: West- and Central Africa, South- and Central America. Transmission by mosquitos (Aedes). Acute infectious disease with various degrees of severity. Mild course of illness is flu-like without rhinitis. In few cases severe infection with classic triad: Icterus, hemorrhages (skin, kidney, stomach) and distinctive albuminuria, biphasic course of disease. CAUTION: In case of acute suspicion of disease, please do not send any sample to our laboratory! Please contact the Bernard-Nocht institute or the Robert-Koch institute at once!
